Jeanette Clarke

Born in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, lived in Kenya, made the trek south to South Africa (1960). In 1994 we made our way over the Atlantic to Vermont, USA. Wow…a fun adventure! Now I am proudly an American citizen.

My grandmother and mother created wedding cakes for over 40 years in South Africa. When I watched my mom create my daughters wedding cake in 1996, I decided it was time to jump in on the family tradition and learn how to design and create sugar flowers and put together elegant wedding cakes. I drew on the natural artistic ability that ran in our family and soon was creating beautiful sugar roses, delicate lily of the valley, and exquisite mini orchids.

I was hooked.

For several years I have designed and created wedding cakes for couples throughout New England and now in Wilmington, North Carolina.
